DEPRESSION COUNSELING

How do you tell the difference between feeling sad and suffering from depression?

It’s a fair and sometimes not-so-easy question to answer. But in simplest terms, if feelings of persistent or intense sadness have brought you here, perhaps it’s time to talk with someone in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Some studies indicate that as many as one in 10 adults have felt feelings of depression within the past year.

Depression is very real and can have debilitating impacts on your everyday life, but celebrate the first step toward feeling better about yourself and your circumstances by seeking help. Look at the following list and see if any of them seem relevant to you or your loved one. If so, you might be dealing with depression and will want to seek out help, whether from us or someone else.

  • Having feelings of hopelessness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
  • Decreased energy and fatigue

  • Apathetic

Even though depression is treatable, many people needlessly suffer alone. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, call AFC today to schedule an appointment with a skilled, compassionate therapist. We would be honored to walk alongside of you on your healing journey.
